Too Sorry to Save – And That’s A Lot!

So, it’s like when you try to help a relative the best you can, cause that’s what Mama would have wanted. But they just can’t get it together, and you just give up and say Help Him Lord which he does…and it’s an epic fail.

What in the world, you say that when God, the creator of the heavens and the earth, literally gives you His hand and you say no thanks? Meet Lot, Abraham’s nephew, who is not a young man but a grey, grown ass man.

He was on the couch watching Law and Order when Abraham got a call from another relative. Look, he gets fired from every job he’s had. You take him, and cause that’s what Mama would have wanted, Abe did.

Well, Lot goes with Abraham. He becomes rich because of his connection to uncle. Eventually, they separate, and Lot heads to Sodom. It was the place where you could make it there if you didn’t care about God.

After a few years, God tells Abraham he’s going to destroy Sodom and its suburbs. Abraham prayed, Help ‘em, Lord, cause that’s what Mama would have wanted. God said, ‘Okay, because you asked, though I am nothing from nephew, I’ll save him.’

God sends two angels to Sodom to tell Lot it’s time to raise. As the air starts to smell like rotten eggs, Lot starts fumbling around like he’s looking for his car keys. Finally, the angels grab his hands. Footnote: One word for hand in Hebrew means power. God is transferring power to Lot to help him escape.

Once they reach the city limits, one of the angels tells them don’t look back. Go to the mountains, or you’ll die.

And what does Lot say? He begs not to go to the mountains. Let me go to Zoar. It ain’t that far. So instead of going to a higher level, Lot went to Zoar, which means little.

The angels look at each other. Man, it shouldn’t take all this to save him. Bye!

In Zoar, Lot lives in a basement apartment, takes up drinking, and has incest with his daughters, who give birth to enemies, which is what you become to God when you refuse to want the better God wants to give you.
